Watch Time: TV & Movie Tracker (“Watch Time”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a TV show and movie tracking application operated by Watch Time.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, when it may be disclosed, and the choices available to users.

By using Watch Time, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account information

When you create or use a Watch Time account, we may collect:

• Name or display name
• Email address
• Username
• Account/user identifier
• Authentication provider information, such as whether you signed in with Google or email/password

Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not stored by us in plain text.

2.2 Watch activity and app interactions

To provide the core tracking features of Watch Time, we may store information such as:

• Movies and TV shows you save
• Movies, shows, seasons, and episodes you mark as watched
• Episode and season progress
• Ratings you submit
• Watch-time statistics
• Favorite genres or preferences derived from your activity
• Other actions you take within the app that are required to maintain your library and progress

2.3 User-submitted content

If you use feedback, support, or report-a-problem features, we may collect the information you voluntarily submit, such as:

• Feedback text
• Bug reports
• Support messages
• Information you choose to include in those messages

2.4 Notifications

Watch Time may provide notifications about TV shows, including notifications when new episodes become available.

Device push tokens or notification identifiers may be used when required for app notifications.

2.5 Information we do not intentionally collect

Unless a future version of Watch Time adds a feature that requires it, we do not intentionally collect:

• Precise or approximate location
• Address
• Phone number
• Contacts
• Race or ethnicity
• Political or religious beliefs
• Sexual orientation
• Installed-app lists

If our data practices change, this Privacy Policy and our applicable store disclosures will be updated.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage user accounts
• Authenticate users
• Save and synchronize watchlists and viewing progress
• Track watched movies, shows, seasons, and episodes
• Calculate watch-time statistics and progress
• Store and display ratings
• Send requested or enabled episode-related notifications

We do not use personal information for advertising or sell personal information to advertisers unless this policy is updated to clearly disclose such use.

4. Authentication

Watch Time may allow users to authenticate through:

• Google Sign-In
• Email and password

Authentication is provided through Supabase Auth and, where applicable, Google authentication services.

If email verification, password recovery, or other authentication emails are enabled, those emails may be delivered through our configured email/SMTP provider.

5. Third-Party Services

Watch Time relies on third-party service providers to operate certain features.

Supabase

We use Supabase for services such as authentication, database storage, and backend infrastructure.

Google

Google services may be used for Google Sign-In and Google Play functionality.

The Movie Database (TMDB)

Watch Time may use The Movie Database (TMDB) API for movie, TV show, cast, image, and related entertainment metadata.

Watch Time is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Vercel

Our website and/or backend services may be hosted using Vercel.

Google Play Billing

If Watch Time offers paid subscriptions or other digital purchases through Google Play, purchase processing is handled through Google Play's billing services. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell users' personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf when necessary to operate Watch Time, such as hosting, authentication, database, email delivery, and payment-processing providers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.

7. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect user information.

However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and Watch Time activity data for as long as the account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

We may retain limited information for longer when required for:

• Legal obligations
• Fraud prevention
• Security
• Dispute resolution
• Enforcement of agreements

Where possible, retained information that is no longer required to be linked to an identifiable account may be anonymized.

9. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their Watch Time account and associated personal data.

Upon a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize associated personal data unless retention is required by law or for another permitted purpose.

10. User Choices

Depending on the feature, users may:

• Choose whether to save movies or shows
• Choose whether to mark content as watched
• Choose whether to submit ratings
• Choose whether to submit feedback
• Enable or disable app notifications through device settings
• Request account deletion

11. Children's Privacy

Watch Time is intended for users aged 13 and older.

We do not knowingly design the service for children under 13 or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under the applicable minimum age has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our features, services, legal requirements, or data practices change.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
